Member States shall report on the progress achieved towards national energy efficiency targets and submit National Energy Efficiency Action Plans (NEEAPs). The NEEAPs have to cover significant energy efficiency improvement measures and expected/achieved energy savings, including those in the supply, transmission and distribution of energy as well as energy end-use in view of achieving the national energy efficiency targets. Member states are required to produce progress reports toward national energy efficiency targets every three years.
Topics related to the preparation of annual reports and future NEEAPs and sharing of experience on these will offer significant added value. In addition, discussions will support Member States with exchanging information on how to measure progress in energy efficiency. Some topics are closely related to review and monitoring of implementation in some EED articles or other reporting requirements in the Directive and cooperation will be done with those themes when seen possible and appropriate.
